CURRICULUM





"CMAB is committed to academic excellence through sound principles and practices coupled
with a comprehensive military leadership education and training program.

The Academy has a mandatory JROTC instructional component and a required four-year college preparatory curriculum, emphasizing Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Technology.

The staff believes that each cadet has a right to learn in a disciplined environment and to achieve their full potential supported by the school, parents and community."





Chicago Military Academy-Bronzeville (CMAB) offers four Advanced Placement
(AP) classes in which 15 % of students participate: English Literature (English IV),
English Language and Composition (English III), World History and U.S. History.

CMAB offers numerous honors classes at each grade level (9th - 12th) in all core
subjects. Ninth graders are placed in honors by their 8th grade Iowa Test of Basic
Skills (ITBS) scores in Reading and Math; cadets are recommended for honors
beyond 9th grade. Between 35 - 40 % of students take at least one honors course.

Qualified and highly motivated junior and senior cadets enroll in credit courses
with area colleges and universities as part of the Education-To-Careers (ETC)
Programs.

Police, Firefighter and Nursing programs are available for all qualified cadets
through nearby educational institutions.

Illinois Virtual High School online courses are also available to CMAB cadets.
